Lowell Point Beach Relax – 1 Hour

Perfect for a quick reset, this gentle coastal experience offers a peaceful break without hiking. Enjoy barefoot beachcombing and guided meditation as you soak in stunning mountain views and listen to the soothing ocean. Keep your eyes open—you might spot seals, sea otters, or eagles nearby.

Ideal for those short on time or simply craving calm by the shore.

  • Alaska’s weather can be unpredictable—this may not be the typical sunbathing beach day you’re used to, but with the right jacket and an open mind, it’s a deeply refreshing and transformative experience.
  • Expect a blend of nature and city life: the sounds of birds and water may mingle with distant traffic, friendly dogs, and passersby.

Two Lakes Forest Bathing – 2.5 Hours

Step into a living tapestry of mossy spruce forest, reflective lakes, gentle waterfall, and marshland—all tucked into a peaceful 0.9-mile loop 8n the midfle if Seward. This classic shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) walk invites you to slow down, awaken your senses, and connect deeply with the land. Listen for birdsong and the hush of flowing water, feel the textures of the forest, and keep an eye out for eagles—or the haunting remains of a car slowly reclaimed by nature after the 1964 earthquake.

We’ll begin with a grounding meditation, then move through a series of mindful and sensory invitations before closing with a quiet tea ceremony using locally harvested herbs.

  • This walk is mostly flat and welcoming to all who are comfortable standing for 20 minutes and walking slowly on uneven terrain. A chair can be provided upon request, free of charge, for additional support.
  • Expect a blend of nature and city life: the sounds of birds and water may mingle with distant traffic, friendly dogs, and passersby.

Tonsina Half-Day Beach Retreat – 5 Hours

This mindful hiking retreat begins where the road ends—at Lowell Point Beach—and follows a scenic forest trail to the wild shores of Tonsina Point. Along the way, you’ll cross salmon streams and cascading creeks, pass through dense coastal forest, and arrive at a dramatic beach where mountains meet sea and time slows down.

At Tonsina, we’ll explore the rhythms of the land: dig your feet into black sand, feel the breeze off the bay, watch clouds drift over glacier-carved peaks, and witness the powerful shift between tides. You may spot eagles, salmon, or even bears, and explore the ghost forest—trees preserved in place since the 1964 earthquake.

We’ll hike in at a mindful pace, pausing for nature-based meditation and observation. At the beach, enjoy a deeper immersion through guided sensory practices, reflection, and optional gentle movement or yoga. A light snack will be shared before returning.

Approx. 5 hours (flexible based on group pace and preference).

Mount Marathon Mindful Ascent – Half Day (~5 Hours)

This is our most physically challenging offering—and one of the most rewarding. We’ll hike nearly 4 miles round-trip and gain 1,600 feet in elevation as we ascend Seward’s iconic Mount Marathon. Starting at the base, we’ll follow a meltwater stream and journey through striking ecological transitions: from white spruce woods to towering hemlocks, then up to soft alpine tundra with sweeping views of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding peaks.

As we gain elevation, we’ll pause in the most striking spots for grounding meditations, quiet observation, and guided sensory experiences that deepen your connection to the land. At the top, enjoy a gentle stretch, a well-earned snack, and space to take in the vast stillness before heading back down.

This hike is best suited for those with moderate to strong fitness and comfort on uneven, sometimes steep terrain. Pace is mindful but steady.
